[Yellow Fever Vaccine]

According to the regulations of the Costa Rican Health Department, all tourists from or through Bolivia, Colombia, Venezuela, Peru, Ecuador, Brazil and other Latin American yellow fever epidemic countries must bring a yellow fever vaccination certificate (yellow book) to enter Costa Rica, otherwise they will be denied entry. Please be sure to get the vaccination 15 days before entry, because the vaccine will not take effect until 10 days later.

[Climate]

The temperature in San Jose, the capital of Costa Rica, is 26 degrees all year round, and the temperature difference between morning and evening is large. Please bring long sleeves, short sleeves and jackets

Costa Rica is located in the tropics, and the whole year is divided into about 7 months of rainy season (May-November) and 5 months of dry season (December-April). The central valley area has a pleasant climate, four seasons like spring, with an average temperature of 18-23 degrees Celsius, and abundant rainfall in the rainy season. The surrounding tropical plains have a hot climate.

【Communication】

It is recommended that travelers activate international roaming services through local mobile phone operators in their country of residence, or purchase phone prepaid cards at the San Jose Airport.

【Voltage】

The voltage in Costa Rica is 120V60Hz, with a type A double flat-head socket or a three-pin type B socket.

The voltage in Costa Rica is 110 volts. Guests must check the applicable voltage if they have electrical appliances that need to be charged. The plug is a double-phase flat head.

【Currency】

The currency in Costa Rica is the Colón. Travelers can exchange local currency at the airport. US dollars are also accepted, but only small denominations of USD$20 or less are accepted. Visa and Master credit cards can be used. US dollars of $1, $5, $10, and $20 are almost all accepted. Only fifty and one hundred dollars depend on the merchant, and not every merchant accepts them.

【Other travel precautions】

  1. The social security in Latin America is poor, so please pay attention to personal and property safety. You should follow the guide’s arrangement and avoid going alone, especially not going to the old city center or nightclubs and other entertainment venues alone
  2. Please deposit valuables in the hotel safe or keep them properly. Do not leave them in the hotel room at will
  3. All drinks (including bottled water) in the MINIBAR in the hotel room must be paid for by yourself, which is not included in the room rate
  4. Please forgive us if the dining time is delayed due to transportation, itinerary arrangement, or distance. Please refer to local specialty food or Western food.
  5. There is no kettle in the room of Latin American hotels. Some hotels provide coffee pots in the rooms. If travelers need a kettle, they need to bring their own

Document Information

[Costa Rica]-Visa requirements for entry into Costa Rica:

  1. Holders of US/Canadian passports can go directly without a visa.
  2. Holders of Chinese passports and US green cards or valid visas such as B1/B2, F1, J1, H1B, G4, L1, etc. do not need to apply for a visa, and the stay period shall not exceed 30 days.
  3. If you hold a Chinese passport and a valid Canadian tourist or business visa, you do not need to apply for a visa.

Note: US passports must be valid for at least 6 months from the date of entry into Costa Rica. Chinese passports and green cards are valid for at least 6 months, and visas must be stamped in the passport and valid for 6 months.

* Tips for entering South American countries: Valid documents (US green card/Canadian visa/Schengen visa, etc.) cannot be entered with an extension stamp. Customs only recognizes the validity date printed on the document, and does not recognize additional stamps. (Please refer to official documents for entry policies)

Cancellation and Change Notice

  • Cancellation more than 32 days before departure will refund 90% of the tour fee
  • Cancellation 17-31 days before departure will refund 80% of the tour fee
  • Cancellation 9-16 days before departure will refund 20% of the tour fee
  • Cancellation 6-8 days before departure will refund 10% of the tour fee
  • Cancellation within 5 days before departure will not refund any fees

* If you choose Paypal and credit card payment in US dollars, if you voluntarily cancel the order and refund the full amount after the order is confirmed, a payment fee of 3% of your total order amount will be incurred.

  1. If you need to book a flight, we recommend that you book the flight after receiving our itinerary booking confirmation email. Your trip reservation will usually be confirmed within 1-2 working days. Please arrange your flight and itinerary time reasonably to avoid missing the flight. Please arrive at the airport two to three hours before the flight takes off to avoid crowds and delayed check-in.
  2. When taking the plane, please fasten your seat belt at all times to avoid turbulence affecting safety.
  3. Please arrive at the boarding location in advance to wait for the bus. The boarding and alighting times are for reference only. Please forgive us if the vehicle is delayed due to special circumstances (such as weather, road repairs, strikes, mountain closures, special conditions of tourist buses). The order and itinerary content of the itinerary may be adjusted according to your departure time, etc. Please refer to the arrangements of the tour guide on the day of the group.
  4. When staying in a hotel, unless otherwise specified, all rooms are non-smoking and smoking is prohibited. Those who do not comply will be fined $300 or more by the hotel (please refer to the hotel regulations for details). This cost will be borne by the guests themselves, and our company will not be responsible. Please lock the door at all times; do not hang clothes on the lights; when you hear the alarm, please leave quickly through the emergency exit. Each hotel room only has one or two beds; if you need an extra bed for three or four people sharing a room, please arrange with Sunstar in advance. (Some products do not support four people sharing a room, please see the price details for details)
  5. The group needs to move together. If you need to leave the group during the trip, please be sure to obtain the consent of the tour guide to avoid accidents. If you need to go out by yourself at night or during free time, please inform the tour guide or group members, and pay special attention to safety. Please be careful when walking on slippery and steep roads. Please follow the precautions of various places such as tourist areas, restaurants, hotels, and amusement facilities. Please bring your own gastrointestinal medicine, cold medicine, motion sickness medicine, personal habitual medicine, etc.
  6. During Christmas, New Year, National Day, Labor Day or other long weekends, the group fee will be appropriately adjusted. Please confirm before booking.
  7. Spring and summer: Please wear light clothes and comfortable shoes. Autumn and winter: Please wear thick clothes and warm shoes.
  8. Sunstar Travel Tips: To protect your personal property, we recommend that you carry your personal valuables with you during the trip, and do not leave valuables at the bus/hotel/attractions/restaurants, etc.; Sunstar Travel, local tour operators, drivers, tour guides, etc. are not responsible for theft in any circumstances and at any place, resulting in personal property loss, please be aware of this. Booking Procedure

  1. Within 1-2 working days after you submit your booking information, you will receive a confirmation email from us.
  2. Once all matters of your itinerary are arranged, we will send a confirmation to your registered email address. Please check the relevant information carefully after receiving the confirmation. Confirmation includes your booking itinerary information, order number, notes for joining the tour, and the local tour operator’s emergency contact information.
  3. To ensure that you join the tour smoothly, please be sure to bring the confirmation information and other valid documents before departure and on the day of departure. In case of emergency, you can contact the local tour operator or Sunstar).

Booking Rules

  1. Please go to the destination country by yourself. Join the scheduled tour group.
  2. The order must go through a certain purchase process. We will confirm with you by email within 1-2 working days.
  3. Please book as soon as possible, because the price may vary at different times. For example, the price will increase during public holidays.
  4. Please read the Cancellation and Modification Rules carefully before booking.

  6. In order to ensure your safety and a pleasant journey, the local tour group supplier reserves the right to change the itinerary.

【黃熱病疫苗】
根據哥斯達黎加衛生部門規定,凡來自或經由玻利維亞、哥倫比亞、委內瑞拉、祕魯、厄瓜多爾、巴西等拉美黃熱病疫區國家的遊客進入哥斯達黎加,必須攜帶注射黃熱病疫苗證明(黃皮書),否則將被拒絕入境。請務必在入境前 15 天注射,因疫苗要 10天后纔會發揮藥效。

【氣候】
哥斯達黎加首都聖約瑟常年溫度爲 26 度,都是早晚溫差較大,請帶好長袖和短袖以及外套
哥地處熱帶,全年約分爲 7 個月雨季(5-11 月)和 5 個月旱季(12 月-4 月)。中部山谷地區氣候宜人,四季如春,平均氣溫 18-23 攝氏度,雨季雨水充沛。周邊熱帶平原地區氣候炎熱。

【通訊】
建議旅客在居住國經當地手機營運商開通手機國際漫遊服務,或是在聖何塞機場內購買電話儲值卡。

【電壓】
哥斯達黎加的電壓爲 120V60Hz,A 型雙扁頭插座或三腳的 B 型插座。

【貨幣】
哥斯達黎加的貨幣是科朗(Colón),旅客可在機場兌換當地貨幣,美金也通用,但只接受小面額 USD$20 美金以下的鈔票。Visa 和 Master 的信用卡可以使用,美鈔 $1 $5 $10 $20 都幾乎會收,唯獨五十和一百美元得看商家了,不是每家都接受的。

【哥斯達黎加】-入境哥斯達黎加簽證要求:
1. 持美國/加拿大護照,無需簽證可直接前往。
2. 持中國護照並同時持有美國綠卡或B1/B2、F1、J1、H1B、G4、L1等有效簽證,無需辦理簽證,停留期不得超過30天。
3. 持中國護照並同時持有加拿大旅遊或商務入境有效簽證,無需辦理簽證。
備註:美國護照必須在進入哥斯達黎加之日起至少6個月有效。中國護照及綠卡有效期至少6個月,簽證必須在護照上蓋章且6個月有效。
* 入境南美洲國家溫馨提示:有效證件(美國綠卡/加拿大籤/申根籤等)加蓋延期章無法入境,海關僅認可證件上印製的有效日期,額外蓋章均不認可。(入境政策請以官方文件爲準)
